Although the pacers dominates the list and holds the top six positions , Spinners like Shane Warne , Muttiah Muralidaran and Anil Kumble keeps the spinners in the race. Warne who is not fond of limited over cricket, has always served his team in an attacking , wicket taking role, as might be expected of a classical leg-spinner, but by also maintaining an excellent economy rate.
At a time when a bowler’s economy ratio is said to be decent if its under five runs an over, Warne has an economy rate of 3.83, that speaks so much about his greatness.
Muralidaran, the off spinner with the finest record in Test cricket, also done very well in limited-overs cricket. In 21 matches, he has picked up 30 wickets and have an economy rate of only 3.69 runs an over – the lowest of any bowler save England’s Ian Botham. In 22 matches, Beefy got 30 wickets at an economy rate of 3.43 an over.
For our Indian team we have Anil Kumble who has served his team very well, had took 28 wickets in 17 world cup matches. He has provided break throught whenever needed. Now this time world cup is in West Indies, where pitches will very well suited for the spinner. Now we can see the some goo spin action, and hope that a spinner will to the list for most successfull bowler of Cricket World Cup matches.
