Deepika’s Stunt for MTV Roadies

Posted by Kokolicious on 26th November 2008

Charismatic beauty of Deepika Padukone created waves with Om Shanti Om and Bachna Ae Haseeno. At the MTV Roadies 6 event in Mumbai on Tuesday Deepika showed her martial arts talent by breaking a plank with her bare hands. Ashutosh Kaushik, winner of MTV Roadies 5.0 and winner of Big Boss 2 was also present at the event. In her upcoming movie Chandni Chowk to China, Deepika is playing double role and has performed her own stunts.
"I had undergone training for martial arts for few months and it was worth it. I enjoyed doing the stunts and I am lucky that I got a chance to do stunts with Akshay Kumar who himself is a master. I learnt a lot from him and he taught that action is not about tensing your body but to treat it like a dance and be graceful"

Aamir Khan’s Haircut Session for ‘Ghajini’ Look

Posted by Kokolicious on 25th November 2008

Whatever Aamir Khan wants, he gets. For example, the actor wanted a different look for his latest film Ghajini. And luckily for us, he even got the whole procedure on camera. As the photographer clicked away, hair stylist Avan Contractor got busy with Aamir’s hair. The actor looked calm and composed, and he had every right to be. The two have worked together before in Dil Chahta Hai. Aamir really liked Avan’s work and became a big fan after the movie. First, Avan trimmed the hair with a pair of scissors. Then out came the shearers, giving a new shape. Strategically placed grooves were shaved. After the work was done, Aamir critically examined the cut before giving his thumbs up. We just hope his new look works for Ghajini.

Aamir Khan’s six looks in ‘Behka’ song from Ghajini

Posted by Kokolicious on 22nd November 2008

It seems that Aamir Khan is willing to do quite a lot for his upcoming film, Ghajini. First, he shaved his head. Then, he whipped up his body into deadly shape. And now, he’s all set to dazzle us with six new looks in a single song! Titled Behka, the song sees Aamir playing six outrageous characters to woo his heroine, Asin. And here’s a sneak peek.

We start off with this chest-baring outfit which is sure to give a certain stylish Khan a complex. We’re very sure, though, that the girls aren’t complaining.

A deft use of accessories — hat, braces, chain belt, neckpiece and friendship bands — jazzes up this biker look.

What saves this outfit from becoming a carbon copy of outfit number two? Well, the shades minus the hat as well as the all black colour theme. The song was shot over a period of 20 days in South Africa. Towards the end of the song, all six characters come together on screen.

Here the actor looks like his old self. In case you’re wondering, the variations aren’t just different looks but different personas as well.

Aamir’s hair has been styled by Avan Contractor, who has done most of Aamir’s hairstyles, including the popular Dil Chahta Hai look. Arjun Bhasin has done the costumes.

Aamir looks to win over Asin with spiky hair and bulging biceps. Will he be successful? Find out when the film releases on December 25.

Sexiest Men Alive

Posted by Upasana Jain on 20th November 2008

1. Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has topped People magazine’s list of the Sexiest Men Alive.

Sadly for you ladies, the tall (6 feet 2 inches) and ruggedly handsome actor, who will turn 40 in October, is already taken. He is happily married to Deborra-Lee Furness, his wife of 12 years, who describes her hubby’s form as ‘the Body of Doom — but I like what’s inside.’ The couple has two kids — Oscar, eight, and Ava, three.

Jackman will be seen in the epic Australia, where he co-stars with Nicole Kidman. Meanwhile, lets take a look at who else made it to the top 10.

2. Daniel Craig

When we first saw the man who was going to be the next James Bond, we were very dubious. After all, this blonde Bond was the antithesis of the suave and polished 007 spies of the past. But Daniel got us loving him in Casino Royale and more recently, in Quantum of Solace.

3. Jonn Hamm

We won’t blame you if you don’t recall 37-year old Jonathan Daniel ‘Jon’ Hamm. After all, the television show he is famous for, Mad Men, where he plays a 1960s Madison Avenue advertising executive Don Draper, is yet to arrive in India.

4. Zac Efron

Kids and teenagers alike go wild over this 21-year old High School Musical 3. And we can see why.

5. Robert Buckley

Television has some of the hottest faces and bods around. Take this former economic consultant, for example, who hots up the screen in prime time dramas like Fashion House, American Heiress and Lipstick Jungle.

6. Blair Underwood

ou may have seen this hunk as a lawyer in the 1990′s television series LA Law. Since then, the 44-year old has starred in films like Set It Off, Krush Groove, Just Cause and Deep Impact.

7. Ed Westwick

This English actor is best known for his role as Chuck Bass in American television series Gossip Girl. A self-confessed romantic, this ladies man is also the lead singer of the English rock band The Filthy Youth.

8. Michael Phelps

The 23-year old American swimmer made headlines when he shattered world records at this year’s Beijing Olympics. He won eight gold medals and a place on this list.

9. Blake Shelton

After crooning his way to the country charts, this 32-year old country singer does the same here. His four Number One hits include Austin (2001), The Baby (2003), Some Beach (2004-2005), and Home (2008).

10. Lang Lang

This 26-year old Chinese pianist says playing the piano makes his blood pressure go up. We wondered how he didn’t suffer a stroke after his awesome performance at the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony.

Salman-Katrina: Together on Silver Screen

Posted by Kokolicious on 18th November 2008

It’s always interesting to see off screen bollywood couples pairing on screen. Sometimes their real life chemistry clicks in reel life, but not always. One of the hottest pair of bollywood- Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif seem to be taking no chances; with their upcoming movie- Yuvvraaj just around the corner, let’s check out the films they’ve done together.

Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya

The first time we saw them on screen together, he was impossible to warm up to with that atrocious accent and she was impossible to not gape at. Then again, maybe we didn’t like Sallu out of sheer envy.

The couple acted together in Partner but in an open-relationship sort of the way. Salman did great opposite Lara Dutta while the Katrina-Govinda pairing pretty much stole the show. The quirky casting really brought in the crowds.

Both actors had a cameo in Hello peopled by younger actors. They were all over the misleading promos, though, and Salman‘s accent might have been the worst thing about this spectacular dud.

Subhash Ghai knows romance, and he’s shown us some good stuff back in the day. He looks to be working off his rust with Yuvvraaj, and despite Salman scaring us — and Beethoven — in the soundtrack, Kat simply looks ethereal. Wow.

Bollywood Star Fights

Posted by Kokolicious on 17th November 2008

Fights and cold wars are quite common in Bollywood. The latest victims are reportedly Akshay Kumar and his Singh Is Kinng director Vipul Shah who were earlier in same camp. Here is a list of Bollywood stars engaged in such wars.

Vipul Shah – Akshay Kumar

The duo have worked together in three films, the recent being the blockbuster Singh is Kinng. Their association dates back to Waqt: The Race Against Time in 2005, and then again in Namastey London. That’s why it was surprising when the director did not turn up for Akshay‘s Diwali party. Apparently, Shah is currently in Goa with Ajay Devgan, shooting for their new film together, London Dreams. Has the director earned a new friend at the expense of an old one? It could be true, as it seems that Akshay uped his market fee for Shah’s future films.

Shah Rukh Khan – Barry John

Shah Rukh Khan spent his early years under the tutelage of theatre guru Barry John. When he became a superstar, SRK turned his back on John. Apparently, John had hoped — when he shifted to Mumbai to start his acting academy — that his old students would help him out. But SRK did not give him any time. In a recent interview Shah Rukh even said, "I am not emotionally available for some people," referring to Barry John.

Deepika Padukone – Farah Khan

Director Farah Khan launched Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om, and the blockbuster film made her an overnight star. But Deepika did not return the favour. The actress ‘forgot’ to wish Farah on her birthday, and even ignored Gauri Khan during the recent Lakhme Fashion Week. She seemed to pre-occupied with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor‘s mother Neetu Singh, cheering Ranbir, who walked the ramp for Arjun Khanna. "I don’t mind if Deepika didn’t call me because this is how many people in our industry behave post their success," Farah later said.

Mallika Sherawat – Mahesh Bhatt

The Bhatts have given breaks to many talents, including Mallika Sherawat. Though she had done Khwaish earlier, she got her big hit with Bhatt’s Murder, opposite Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel. When Bhatt offered her a role in his next film, Mallika demanded an astronomical fee. She has never worked with the Bhatts since.

Aamir Khan – Mansoor Khan

Mansoor gave his cousin Aamir his first hit Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. They went on to make Akele Hum Akele Tum after a few years. But when Mansoor started on his next project Josh, Aamir refused. The perfectionist that he was, Aamir wanted to play Shah Rukh Khan’s role in the film. Since Mansoor had already decided on King Khan, he refused. The role finally went to Chandrachud Singh. Recently, the cold vibes gave way to friendship, as Mansoor came on board on Aamir’s home production, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa.

Sanjay Dutt – Sanjay Gupta

The actor-filmmaker shared a great rapport and did many films like Kaante, Musafir, Zinda and Shootout at Lokhandwala. But soon, differences regarding finance began to creep into their relationship. Dutt soon walked out of their joint production house, White Feather Films, and formed his own banner, Sanjay Dutt Productions.

Bipasha Basu – Mahesh Bhatt

Mallika Sherawat wasn’t the only actress, who turned her back on Mahesh Bhatt. Bipasha Basu scored her first hits in Jism, and Raaz. But the actress has never worked with the Bhatts since. Even though the Raaz sequel is being made, Bipasha will not be a part of it.

Mahima Choudhary – Subhash Ghai

Ghai launched Mahima in his film, Pardes, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film is one of the few hits to her credit. But soon, the two had differences due to a violation in the three-film contract. Apparently, Ghai did not allow Mahima to work on other projects until her contract with Mukta Arts expired, and that did not go down well with the actress. They have never worked together again.
