Worst Dressed Bollywood Celebs

Posted by Kokolicious on March 18th, 2009

The last few weeks saw a flurry of events; prominent among them were the Filmfare awards and two wedding ceremonies of Amrita Arora and Ayesha Takia. Expectedly, Bollywood’s high and mighty showed up in glittering strength to pick up a trophy or bless the ladies, as per the occasion. While some of them impressed as usual, there was no dearth of the proverbial oddball. Take a look at the Ten Best and Worst Dressed celebrities of the events. Let’s begin with the sore thumbs.

Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Akhtar

A velvet plush and his fade-to-white muse? The usually dapper filmmaker turned actor cuts a sorry picture in this horribly dowdy sherwani. If ethnic means looking like this then the Rock On dude is better off sporting his staple wardrobe of graphic tees. Wife Adhuna, best known for her edgy sensibilities, too is at her uninspired best in this bland ‘n’ boring look at the sangeet do.

Payal Rohatgi

After all attention she got from Bigg Boss 2, Payal Rohatgi makes a miserable attempt to garner the same at Filmfare Awards red carpet with an inelegantly draped, garish sari. Very, very filmi.

Adah Sharma

Designer outfits don’t always a guarantee the desired, dreamy effect. 1920′s Adah Sharma finds out after slipping into this Nalandda Bhandari creation. What’s with that distracting, excessive, enormous rosette pattern, anyway?

Shriya Saran

Woman of steel or wrapped in aluminium foil, take your pick. Seriously, you need a pair of Cyclops’ shades to escape the glaring effect of Shriya Saran’s unbelievably shiny avatar.

Divya Kumar

What happens when The Green Goblin shakes hands with Poison Ivy? A best-selling graphic novel? Nada! Instead you get Divya Kumar (T-Series baron, Bhushan Kumar’s significant other) in this hideous Dolce & Gabbana number! The outfit brings back memories of Kalpana Iyer in the disco-friendly 1980s, which is not always such a good thing when you are attending an awards ceremony.

Mughda Godse

It’s like Aeon Flux did an Edward Scissorhands to herself. From fashion forward to fashion-challenged, the good-looking Mugdha loses many of those previously earned brownie points.

 Neil Nitin Mukesh

Now here’s a dishy young man who, sadly, mistook glamour for gleam? Neil Nitin Mukesh in a flashy disaster.

Sohail Khan

While there’s nothing wrong with Sohail’s ethnic outing, it’s his choice of footwear that really peeves us off. Dude, ever heard of mojris?

Manyata Dutt

Looks like someone’s been watching a lot of soaps on the idiot box. Nuff said.

Sunita Gowarikar

Another one joins the gown bandwagon. Unlike hubby Ashutosh Gowarikar’s triumphant turn at the award functions, there’s nothing remotely winning about Sunita’s simply shoddy, definitely dated blue garb.
