We all are aware that before becoming the superstar he is, Shah Rukh Khan hailed from a middle class family in Delhi. The actor has often shared some interesting anecdotes about his life and during the Raees on Rail promotions he revealed yet another piece of information.
Shah Rukh Khan spoke about one of his first train journeys which was from Delhi to Agra. The actor apparently earned a salary of Rs. 50 as an usher at a Pankaj Udhas concert. He later boarded the train to go to Agra to get a glimpse of the famous Taj Mahal. Reminiscing about the experience, the superstar mentioned that he had big glass of pink lassi which was quite a famous beverage then. Since everyone was hungry, they opted for this instead of food as it was quite filling according to Shah Rukh.
However, the experience didn’t end as sweet as the lassi. The actor ended up puking the entire journey back and suspected that there was bumblebee in it.
On the other hand, for the Baadshah Khan, who now owns a palatial residence in an expensive city like Mumbai, it has been a big transition from an usher to a superstar. Now that the actor rarely gets a chance to travel by trains, as he constantly lives out of a suitcase at airports, this experience is one for him to cherish.
He mentioned that he has carried a couple of board games to keep him entertained whilst travelling but the doting father couldn’t stop himself from expressing how much he misses his little one AbRam.]]>" target=_new> by
Raees, that marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, has been in the making for the past two years. The actress, as she rightly puts in, has put in her sweat, tears and blood for the film and now that it is all set to release, it has been really unfortunate that she could not come down to the country to promote it.
Mahira Khan recently spoke her heart out to a Pakistani publication where she clearly expressed her displeasure of not being able to participate in the promotions of her debut Bollywood film Raees. She questioned her right to not promote the film by asking if it was really asking for too much for a film which also has her hard work. She stated that she wants to be a part of interviews with her co-star Shah Rukh Khan.
A couple of months ago, followed by the much controversial Uri attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, politicians and some social activists demanded the ban of Pakistani artists in India. After several protests, the film associations and federations came up to the conclusion of not involving Pakistani artists in films henceforth, but exceptions were given to the ones that were slated for release like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and the ones that were already shot like Raees.
However, post the massive outrage; Raees promotions were conducted in India minus the leading lady in order to avoid any kind of controversy.
Mahira Khan, however, was extremely happy with her role and getting an opportunity of working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She couldn’t stop gushing about our very own King Khan and called him ‘magic’ and a ‘bloody smart’ guy with whom one can talk anything about. She also expressed her gratitude towards producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and director Rahul Dholakia for making her a part of the film.]]>" target=_new> by
There was a time when politician Amar Singh and veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan were the thickest of friends. However, as time passed political preferences changed and relationship equations changed with the Bachchans and Amar Singh finding themselves at loggerheads. Recently while clarifying that, allegations of him creating a rift in the Samajwadi Party were false, Singh made a rather revelatory statement about the Bachchan family.
Talking about being blamed for rifts, Singh stated that he was blamed when the Ambanis split, but in reality, he wasn't involved. Continuing in the same breath, Singh went on to talk about the Bachchans stating that like the previous instance he was once again blamed for their problems, however in truth Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan had been living separately much before he met them.
If that wasn’t all opening yet another can of worms opened when Amar Singh talked about the apparent cold vibes between Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan saying that like before, he wasn’t responsible for the problem between Aishwarya and Jaya either.]]>" target=_new> by

In order to control the maddening situation, the police, then, had to resort to lathi charge. Reports state that, amongst the crowd, one could see the cricketers Irrfan Pathan and his brother Yusuf Pathan, who had also come to the station to meet Shah Rukh Khan.
If that wasn't enough, when the train started moving from the station, there were again hordes of people who started running along with the train. It was because of the acute rush, one person died of breathlessness and two policemen, who were posted there to control the crowd, were injured. The deceased has been identified as Farheed Khan Sherani, who worked as a local politician. Farheed Khan Sherani was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital in Vadodara. Ajay Devgn kick started his next after his much ambitious venture Shivaay released last year. The actor is gearing up to collaborate with one of his favourite filmmakers Milan Luthria for Baadshaho which is a multi-starrer. However, the shoot schedule suffered a minor setback after Ajay Devgn had to suddenly halt it to stay besides his mother after she was hospitalized.
Ajay Devgn’s mother Veena was recently admitted at the Santa Cruz hospital after she was diagnosed with chest congestion. There were also complaints of water accumulating in the lungs because of which she was taken to ICU. After learning of his mother’s ailing health, Ajay immediately requested the producers to return to Mumbai, as the actor was shooting out of the city.
It is being said that the actor has been in the hospital for the past two days and we hear that he will return only after she is completely recuperated. If buzz is to be believed, even prior to this, Veena had been hospitalized and Ajay returned to shooting his film after she had recovered.
Besides Ajay Devgn, Baadshaho also stars Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal among others. It is slated to release on September 7.]]>" target=_new> by
The censor board has deleted two cuss words ‘Haraami’ and ‘Saali’ from the dialogues of the eagerly awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees.
According to sources from the censor board, Shah Rukh’s films are clean wholesome family affairs. “Achcha nahin lagta. In Shah Rukh’s films the aesthetics are of another level. Profanities look okay in Anurag Kashyap cinema or maybe in a Nawazuddin starrer. But Shah Rukh Khan has a distinctly urban family audience. They feel uncomfortable with cuss words. We asked the producers for a few cuss words to be removed from Raees and they happily agreed.”
Some dialogues pertaining to the Islamic religion have also been asked to be removed from Raees.]]>" target=_new> by

Shah Rukh Khan is known the eternal romance hero. But, the actor never thought that he could ever become a movie star. Except for his mother who thought he looked and acted like Dilip Kumar, no one believed an ordinary man to become one of the biggest superstars of the country.
Many may remember that SRK made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti starrer Deewana. The film gave SRK a great boost but he chose to do different roles after his debut. He chose to play anti-hero in three of his back-to-back films, 1993's Baazigar and Darr and 1994's Anjaam. As the reports had suggested, many big time actors in 90s had refused to do roles as it could have damaged their hero image. So, when SRK agreed to do the roles, the former movies had turned out to be huge at the box office.
In a candid interview, Shah Rukh Khan opened about the choices he had made with his earlier films and dealing with stardom. According to SRK, he had agreed to do such villainous roles because he did not think was good-looking enough to be a hero. So, he thought at least get a villain job. He said that he didn't do those roles because he was gutsy or knew that he could have pulled off those roles because he was a great actor. He did those roles because he just wanted to act.
SRK recalled the time when one of the directors, whom SRK refused to name, had told him that SRK was so ordinary and ugly looking guy that he could be used for anything. He revealed that he took all those anti-hero roles because he just wanted to act in films. It didn't matter to him whether he was going to become Rishi Kapoor or Amitabh Bachchan, it didn't matter if he was going to be Salman Khan or Aamir Khan. All he wanted was to act because he knew he knew a little bit of it.
Years later, Shah Rukh Khan returned as an anti-hero in Fan in 2016. Now, SRK's kickstarting 2017 is Raees in which he plays a bootlegger and criminal figure in 1980s Gujarat. The role has shades of grey and once again will remind the audience of those anti-hero days. Raees stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan and will open in theatres on January 25.]]>" target=_new> by

Shahid Kapoor gave his all for yet another Vishal Bhardwaj film and this time it is with a Casablanca love twist. Yes, we have been learning a lot about Shahid and Vishal’s forthcoming venture Rangoon of late and now we got hold of some information on how Shahid Kapoor prepared for his role.
Shahid Kapoor apparently required pistol training for the film and he wanted to learn it from one of the best. He approached none other than the champion shooter -Ronak Pandit, who bagged the gold in the Men's 25m Standard Pistol category at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Apart from understanding the basics of rifle shooting, Pandit also taught Shahid the methods of gripping the gun, perfecting the stance and aiming at target.
Ronak Pandit excitedly said, “Shooting is probably in Shahid Kapoor's blood. We trained for over a week at my Malad and Worli centres (in Suburban and South Mumbai respectively). We did a lot of exercises to help him understand the technique of using the trigger. We followed the same training process that we do for the Olympics. We shot at different calibers and ranges and did precision shooting to get the angles right. He had a few long distance shots in the film and we wanted him to look convincing. On the last day, we went to the Worli range to shoot the firearm with real bullets,"
Ronak was thrilled to train Shahid Kapoor, who is known to get under the skin of his characters. All praises for the actor and his dedication Pandit added,"Shahid is a really talented man and by day two, he seemed effortless. He picked up the tricks faster than I anticipated and his fitness made the process easier. He is down to earth, almost like a college buddy. Also, given that he is punctual, working with him becomes easier."
Besides Shahid, Rangoon also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles and is slated to release on February 24.]]>" target=_new> by
We all know the lengths to which the actors go in order to get into the skin of their characters. One such actor is Sushant Singh Rajput, who had worked extremely hard on his body language in his last film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biopic on India’s ace cricketer M.S. Dhoni.
Even for his next film Çhanda Mama Door Ke, Sushant Singh Rajput is leaving no stone unturned to get the nuances and body language right of his character in the film. We had reported earlier that, Sushant Singh Rajput plays an astronaut in the science fiction film Çhanda Mama Door Ke. As a part of his training, Sushant Singh Rajput recently took lessons on flight simulation. Post that, Sushant Singh Rajput is now heading to NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration) for further training.
Speaking about his role to a leading publication, Sushant Singh Rajput said that he was playing an astronaut in Çhanda Mama Door Ke, for which he had just finished training on a flight simulator. In order to understand the life of astronauts, the film’s director Sanjay Puran Singh has given him around 15 books and eight documentaries, which includes ‘For All Mankind’ that documented NASA’s Apollo mission. Sushant Singh Rajput added that, since Sanjay Puran Singh had contacts in NASA, he will be spending around a month with them in order to understand an astronaut’s body language and their mindset. Despite the fact that the Sanjay Dutt biopic was announced more than a year ago, it is only recently that the filming of the film kick started on full swing. On the first day of the shoot, we were surprised to see Dia Mirza, who has been away from the big screen for a while.

The battle-lines are now comfortably drawn. Rahul Dholakia’s Raees and Rakesh Roshan-Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil have obtained an equal number of theatres across the country, thereby providing further proof of the fact that this indeed is the toughest box office battle since Gadar and Lagaan.
A senior executive of a leading movie chain in Maharashtra says, “We are going to be screening an equal number of shows for Kaabil and Raees from Wednesday. Both are massy blockbuster-type films with a top actor helming the project. Furthermore the supporting cast in both are strong; Nawazuddin and Mahira Khan in Raees make an interesting new combo with King Khan. In Kaabil, Hrithik has the powerful Ronit Roy and his brother Rohit, plus Yami Gautam, again a fresh mix of actors. Plus there is very long Republic Day weekend, so enough room for audiences to warm up to both the film.”
Adds trade analyst Atul Mohan, “Yes, it is a battle of equals and to sum it all in one line all we can say…..may the Kaabil one become the Raees. But we have witnessed BO wonders in the past when two films have turned successful on the same Friday. We hope these two also turn box-office wonders and make all happy.”
However, Atul admits that the numbers are bound to get affected. “The maximum these two films together can make is around Rs. 300 crores. So it’s to be seen how this gets split between these two. It’s the biggest weekend one can dream of. So expect fireworks.”]]>" target=_new> by
It’s not okay to spare the rod and spoil the child. Corporal punishment won’t be allowed in any form, not even for Shah Rukh Khan and Raees. The film has a scene of a child being physically punished that proved problematic. According to well-informed sources the censor board members had a serious discussion with the Raees producers over the scene.
“There were two options. Either that sequence had to be removed or we had to find a way of justifying its presence. The Censors were sensible enough to see that the sequence of corporal punishment was crucial to the plot, so they found a way out. They asked producer Ritesh Sidhwani to add a disclaimer stating that film and its makers do not support corporal punishment.”
This is yet another sign of the censor board’s growing maturity. Earlier every violent or sexual shot was evaluated according to uniform guidelines. But now individual scenes featuring controversial content are likely to be judged on their own merit.
The censor board also had problems with scenes of liquor manufacture and consumption, as Shah Rukh Khan plays a bootlegger. An added disclaimer stating that the film does not in any way endorse its protagonist’s professional allegiance to alcohol, has been added.
Also, putting an end to all debate discussion and assumption on whether Raees is based on the real-life Gujarati bootlegger-turned-politician Abdul Lateef, the censor board has asked for prominent opening-credits disclaimer stating, “This film is a work of fiction. It does not disparage any person dead or alive.”]]>" target=_new> by
While the films of yesteryears resorted to purely media for publicity, these days, the films resort to not just the media but also social media. Shah Rukh Khan, who is known to aggressively promote his films, has chosen a ‘hands-on’ approach to promote his upcoming film Raees.
As a part of the film’s promotions, Shah Rukh Khan will now be travelling to Delhi by train! You heard it right. Shah Rukh Khan will be boarding the train to Delhi rather than going by the ‘aerial route’. Buzz is that, besides Shah Rukh Khan, there will also be Raees’ producer Riteish Sidhwani and its director Rahul Dholakia who will be taking the train. One of the reasons for Shah Rukh Khan’s journey by train is because it is in sync with his character in the film.
The train that Shah Rukh Khan and his team will be boarding will be ‘August Kranti Express’ on January 23 from Mumbai Central at 5 pm. The said train will be reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin station at 10.55 am the next day. The stations in which the train will be halting include Andheri, Borivali, Vapi, Walsad, Surat, Baruch, Baroda, Ratlam, Kota, Savai Modhopur and Mathura.

I might have when I was a dancer or assistant choreographer, but, as an artist, I am going for the first time and I am really excited to perform with Salman Khan. There is Bipasha Basu, Sonakshi Sinha, Manish Paul, Badshah and Prabhu Dheva sir.
How many cities are you guys exploring?
There are two cities in Australia, one in New Zealand, one in Hong Kong and another is Malaysia. Hong Kong and Malaysia have just added up.
And when it is going to start tentatively?
It starts in last week of April. I think the first show is on 22nd of April, 2017. We are starting with Hong Kong and Malaysia which is much earlier and then we will go on to Australia and New Zealand.
What special are you going to be doing?
I have no idea because I have not even sat with the creatives on the show and I don’t know what they have planned. But yes, a lot of dance and interaction are there. Also, there will be a finale featuring all the stars who are going on the tour. I don’t know on which songs I am performing on so it’s way too early to talk about. The team has not yet had a meeting together.
Salman Khan is going on a tour after a very long time. The last he went was almost 10 years back. So it’ll be jam-packed auditoriums. Right?
Yes. As you said, he has not gone on any tour since the last 10 years. So, people are looking forward to it.

Dangal has not just made the audiences happy, but has also given everyone associated with the film many reasons to smile.
Amongst those who have been immensely benefitted by the roaring success of Dangal happens to be the single screen theatre owners, who had been facing uphill times with the advent of multiplexes. Needless to say that these single screen theatre owners feel so very indebted to Aamir Khan for having made Dangal. In order to express their gratitude, a handful of single screen theatre owners penned down their thoughts about Dangal.
One such letter was from the single screen theatre owner in Raigarh, wherein he said that it had been realised with Dangal that there was not a lack of cinema but lack of good cinema that actually brought people to theatres. Besides him, there was a letter that had been written by an exhibitor from Dasna (Ghaziabad district), wherein he stated that his theatre was on the verge of shutting down, till Dangal came about and reversed the fortunes.
Speaking about all these gestures, Aamir Khan said that it had been a very exciting and fulfilling journey. He added that, when he looked back at his career and all his decisions, they had been mostly impractical and risky, with the latest instance being Dangal. It all started off in the year 2000 when the TV industry saw a (r)evolution of sorts in the form of the Indian adaptation of the widely watched game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’. The Indian version of the game show was titled as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, which later gained popularity as ‘KBC’. The USP of Kaun Banega Crorepati was that it gave the common man an opportunity of a lifetime to be not just seated on a hot seat opposite the megastar Amitabh Bachchan (who was the host of the show), but also take home a one crore rupee jackpot prize, amongst the other prize monies.
The years gone by have seen Amitabh Bachchan as the inimitable host of all the seasons of the widely watched show, barring one season where Shah Rukh Khan was roped in as the host. Post that, it has been Amitabh Bachchan all the way, who has been hosting the show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
According to Bollywood Hungama’s reliable sources, the upcoming season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ however will see a change of host. As per our sources, Ranbir Kapoor will be hosting the game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in the upcoming season. If this buzz turns out to be true, then, Ranbir Kapoor will be replacing the inimitable Amitabh Bachchan as the host of the popular game show.
As of now, the way things are standing, the rumors about Ranbir Kapoor replacing Amitabh Bachchan to be hosting the next season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ seems more like a market buzz, since there has been no official announcement or confirmation about the same. Having said that, let us also add that, if the aforementioned news buzz turns out to be true, then, do remember, you read about it first on Bollywood Hungama.]]>" target=_new> by

Amongst the many things that serve as a revelation in the film maker’s life, there is one aspect about his academic life that not many were aware about.

Actress Rati Agnihotri (who is best known for her role in the yesteryear’s hit film Ek Duuje Ke Liye) and her husband Anil Virwani have been named as accused in an FIR that has been registered at Worli police station. The reason? Speaking about the case, Pravin Padwal (Zonal Deputy Police Commissioner) said that they have registered a case of electricity theft of Rs. 46.9 lakhs and that they were probing the issue. Meanwhile, Anil Virwani said that, all three family members (him, Rati Agnihotri and their son Tanuj Virwani) were not in Mumbai. He said that he was shocked when he got to know about the said matter. He added that there had been some misunderstanding and that he would address the issue after they return to Mumbai. He ‘clarified’ that they had been staying in that apartment building for almost ten years now and nothing of this sort had ever happened. He also added that after the (BEST) officials wanted to see the house, he called two of his staff members who allowed them in. Anil Virwani was saddened that he was not given a chance to explain.
As a step further, Jagdish Patil (General Manager- BEST) said that a thorough investigation would be conducted with the help of the police. He added that they (BEST) would also be announcing a cash reward of Rs. 5000 for informants in cases like this.

In a bizarre turn of events, just hours before the release of the much-discussed Dawood satire Coffee With D, the film’s leading man and its only point of interest Sunil Grover says he will have nothing to do with the film.
“It’s very simple. I haven’t been shown the film. I don’t know what the content is. I asked the producer-director Vishal Mishra repeatedly to be shown the film, and he kept saying I’ll be shown the film. But eventually he didn’t show it to me. Aaj-kal-aaj-kal mein waqt nikal gaya. Now it’s too late,” says Grover whose comic act on the Kapil Sharma Show has made him a household name.
Why was he not shown the film? “I don’t know,” Sunil shrugs. “Only they can answer that. But I ceased to promote the film when I realized they won’t show it to me.”
Shockingly Sunil also reveals that the Open Letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that was released by the film’s producers was not his. “I never wrote that Open letter to Modiji.
